There has been an increasingly positive feeling around St Georges Lane following the actions that the Directors of WCFC have taken to bring some much needed realism and financial stability to the club. A meeting took place between Worcester City FC Board and Worcester City Supporters’ Trust representatives to discuss how we could best capitalise on the improved situation and move forward.

 At this meeting it was noted that the Club was on a much better footing financially because of the steps taken by the Board to produce a budget that had the potential to see the club run on an even keel. A common approach as to how the club should be run in the future was discussed and it became clear that there we have to explore a community based model for the future as both Boards genuinely feel that it is the right approach and is in the long term interests of the Club. This will make WCFC more inclusive and community focussed and maximise any chance of it surviving after the move away from SGL. We firmly believe that talking about openness, transparency and inclusivity is essential because that's the way we believe a Football Club should be run. In the spirit of this openness we shall engage with all those in the City of Worcester who would have a role to play in making football in the city a central part of the community, listening to all those who wish to have a say what WCFC should become- Worcester City Council, local businesses, schools, colleges and the University of Worcester etc. It is paramount that we consult all the above to make WCFC truly an inclusive enterprise for the future. This will give the Club an imaginative and innovative way forward working together with Supporters Direct, who can point to many Clubs whom they have advised over the years who have been in similar situations, and the Directors and Shareholders of WCFC. It is hoped the proposed dialogue between all those involved in the future running of WCFC will ensure ultimate survival and re-generation over an exciting development in the Clubs future.
